The Delta Governance Council has been formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This Council will provide necessary advice and guidance for the implementation of Bangladesh Delta Plan-2100.

A notification in this regard has been issued by the Cabinet Division.
The Council’ will monitor the implement the long-term strategy of flood, river erosion, river management, water supply in urban and rural areas, waste management and flood control and drainage management ‘Delta Plan-2100’.
The Planning Minister has been made the Vice-Chairman of the 12-member Council, which is set up to provide necessary advice and guidance.
The members of the committee are: Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Finance, Minister of Food, Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Minister of State / Minister of State for Fisheries and Livestock, Minister of State for Shipping, Minister of State for Water Resources, Minister of State for Disaster Management and Relief and General Economy of Planning Commission. The members of the department will act as the member-secretary of the committee.
The member secretary of the council is a member of the general economics department of the planning commission.
As per the terms of reference of the Councilor, it has been stated in the circular that policy formulation, decision making, strategic advice and guidance for the implementation of Bangladesh Delta Plan-2100, guidance for updating Bangladesh Delta Plan, policy formulation and guidance for formulation of investment plan of Bangladesh Delta Plan-2100. And provide guidance on the structure and use of the Delta Fund.
On September 4, 2016, the National Economic Council (NEC) approved the 100-year master plan known as the ‘Delta Plan’. Under the master plan, the government will take 60 projects for implementation by 2030, at a cost of about Tk 298 billion.
