Rail communication from Dhaka to West zone totally stopped after a Freight train got derailed in Rajbari in the morning.
The accident took place at rail gate No. 2 area of Rajbari on Thursday (May 2) at 7:30 am.
Rajbari Railway Station Master Tanmoy Kumar Dutta confirmed the matter.
Immediately after the accident, rail communication between Rajbari to Dhaka, Rajbari to Daulatdia, Rajbari to Khulna and Rajbari to Rajshahi routes remain suspended.
The station master said, the freight train leaving from Khulna derailed while entering the wagon depot of railway gate number 2 area of Rajbari in the morning.
He further said there is a rescue reserve train in Rajbari. But the local train bound for Poradah on the main line is standing at Pachuria railway station.
“Efforts are underway to divert this train and bring the rescue train to the spot,” he said.
He hoped that the derailed train would be recovered soon.
