On this day in previous years, the Nawab Siraj-Ud-Daulah road show a full swing of thousands of shops with thousands of stalls to sit on both sides of the main roads of the town.

In fact, the day of the Jagannath’s Rath Yatra is different. Although it is religious in the Hindu community, all the festivals in Bengal have always been held by everyone. The day is considered auspicious.

However, on this day of the Rath Yatra, all the shops are closed due to the Covid-19. There is no festive mood anywhere. Public gatherings are prohibited.

In the morning, 10/12 shops were seen sitting on the Siraj-ud Daulah road with muri, khai, batasa, mold khaja ​​etc. Maybe if the day gets longer, one or two more shops can meet. However, people do not have that noise.

The Kushtia’s Rath is religious that but it turns fair of various essential daily products.  The religious climate is like that. But the product attracts people of all religions, castes and creeds. For days, men and women returns home after collecting these daily used products.

When talked to the President of Gopinath Jiur Temple also Public Prosecutor of Kushtia Judge Court Advocate Anup Kumar Nandi said it is the largest temple of the district. He said everything has to be done by accepting the reality. Human life first then something else. He further said Kushtia’s  Rath festival is the biggest festival in the area. Lots of people gather here. If you go to the festival, disaster will come down.

Anup said general religious matters would be held following ritual in the temple.

Assistant teacher of Kushtia Public School in the town Sharmila Guha said there are many aspects to this festival. The enjoyment in the festival is different because everyone is at the festival together. This time it was not because of Corona.

Rabiul Hossain, a government employee, said his family buys a lot of daily necessities from Rath every year.

Moreover, a large trade is also held by this festival every year. But this time things all are smashed.
