Police have arrested a smuggler along with 11 kg and 500 grams of Indian sliver bar. He was arrested on Sunday (November 8) morning from Bagamchara Jiblitala area of Sharsha upazila of Jashore.
The arrested Ali Hossain is the son of Abdul Khaleq of Jafarpur Tulsidanga village under Kalaroa police station in Satkhira.
Uttam Kumar Biswas, in-charge of the Bagamchara police investigation center, said the raid was carried out on a paved road in Bagamchara Jibalitala on reports that goods had been smuggled in from India. Ali Hossain was arrested along with 11 kg and 500 grams of silver. He said a case has been filed with Sharsha police station in this regard.
