Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, lawmaker of Kushtia-3 also joint general secretary of ruling Bangladesh Awami League instructed the high ups of Kushtia’s health department and people works on health related issue in on going Covid-19 situation.

Hanif met with some doctors, district health department officials, public representatives and political leaders of Kushtia on Monday, June 29 at 9 am in Bangladesh time from Canada through Zoom Apps.

The meeting using digital platform was attended by District Council Chairman Haji Robiul Islam, District Civil Surgeon Anwarul Islam, Former Principal of Kushtia Medical College Prof. SM Mustanjid Lotus, incumbent Principal Ashraful Haque, Chairman of Kushtia Upazila Parishad Ataur Rahman Ata, Care taker of Kushtia General Hospital Dr. Nurunnahar and Resident medical officer (RMO) Tapas Kumar Sarkar, Chairman at the Department of Medicine at KMC Salek Masood and Medical Specialist Musa Kabi among others.
The current health situation in the district, ongoing lockdown, number of corona patients, treatment facilities and the overall issues including doctors-nurses and other health workers serving in corona are discussed in the meeting.

Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif made his thanks to the doctors in the district for working with risk from the beginning to the present. Hanif, the central joint general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League now is in Canada.

During the discussion, Prof. SM Mustanjid, attracted to Hanif about the ongoing lockdown in the town especially of the large number of population-based lockdowns in the area that has caused a lot of psychological crisis among the people.

In reply, Hanif instructed to think about whether it is possible to reduce the area to lockdown.

He also advised to the doctors and other concerned to encourage the patients to seek treatment at the upazila level health centers instead of crowding at district level.  He gave necessary instructions to the Civil Surgeon. He said he had talked to the ministry about introducing ICU and central oxygen supply at Kushtia Medical College Hospital and directed the executive engineer of the public works department to work expeditiously to reform the infrastructure required for it.

Hanif also urges to take special care on outdoor patients and provide priority to patients infected with Covid-19.

He also asked to immediately inform him about any problem in the district wherever he is.
