Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Dr. Abdus Salam said despite various obstacles, the Kushtia Islamic University has been continuing its contribution to education. It will have to increase further in the coming days.
He said, however, that most of these contradictions were artificially created.
“We have to get out of these. The university needs to move forward with knowledge-based presentations. High-rise buildings or artificial glamor can’t lift a university too high.
He said this in his speech during the celebration of the 42nd Islamic University Day by cutting cakes in the conference room of the administration building on Sunday (November 22).
The Vice-Chancellor pays homage to those who have contributed to the development, progress and prosperity of the University since its inception. Expressing his commitment to take the Islamic University forward with the cooperation of all, the Vice Chancellor wished all the families of the university a happy 42nd Islamic University Day.
Earlier, at 10:30 in the morning on the occasion of the day, the Vice Chancellor hoisted the national flag with the national anthem in the premises of the administration building.
Vice-Chancellor hoisted the national flag, while the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Md. Shahinoor Rahman university flag. Then the vice chancellor inaugurated the University Day programme by flying pigeons and balloons. He then planted fruit and forest saplings on the occasion the Day.
The events were attended by Deans of various faculties, Department Chairmen, Hall Provosts, Heads of Offices and leaders of various associations, councils, forums and organizations.
An online seminar (webinar) will be held at 6 pm on the occasion of University Day. Bangladesh University Grants Commission Chairman Professor Kazi Shahidullah will participate in it as the chief guest.
