The state telecom company Teletalk has started giving free internet facility to the university students to take part in online education activities in the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
Students will be able to take free classes online using the zoom app through UGC’s platform Bdiren and the concerned teachers will give the link of Bdiren’s free zoom class to the students. This facility is available from all Teletalk SIMs. For this the student must have a minimum data balance.
However, data cannot be charged if it is connected to the BDREN platform. However, students will get this facility by recharging Tk 100 per month. The recharged money will be credited to the main account and that money can be spent on voice calls and data. Unused money will be added to the next recharge. However, if anyone recharge below tk 100 and do not have the minimum data, he will not be able to enjoy the benefits.
Earlier on September 2, UGC said in a press release that Teletalk would provide internet bandwidth at a nominal price to keep online education activities of public and private universities in the country.
