Two women were killed after a bus ran over them near Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today.
The incident took place around 11:00 am when the two were reportedly crossing the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in front of the Xinxian Restaurant, said sub-inspector of Airport Police Station, whose name is Mahbubur Rahman.
The deceased were recognized as Minara Begum (55) and Moni Begum (36). Both of them used to live in the Dakkhinkhan area.
The police officer said a bus of Binimoy Paribahan hit several walkers in the area. Minara died on the spot due to the collision and Moni succumbed to her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Police later arrested the driver and seized the bus, he said more.
