Two labourers died in a septic tank in Kushtia. The incident took place at Harinayanpur in Kushtia Sadar Upazila around 12 noon on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Sheikh Hannan, 30, and Sheikh Shakil, 20. Their houses are adjacent to Harinayanpur Bazar.

According to police and local sources, Hannan and Shakil went to work on a newly constructed septic tank of construction building owned by Abu Bakar’s house in Harinayanpur in the morning.

At first Shakil got into the tank. After a while Hannan went ahead without getting any response from him.

He shouted Shakil’s name few times but getting no response he also got down into the tank.

Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Islamic University police station said both labouers died inside the tank.

Their bodies were recovered and sento Kushtia general hospital for autopsy.

No case was filed.
