Two workers of a traveling brick crashing vehicle were killed when a passenger bus of the Royal Express collided with it in Meherpur. Another person was injured in the incident.
The accident took place near Deendatta Bridge in Meherpur Sadar Upazila on Thursday (October 15) at 5:30 am.
The deceased were identified as Wasim, 30, son of Badar Ali and his brother-in-law Zafar Ali, 42, son of Shahadat Hossain of Amjhupi in Meherpur Sadar upazila.
Citing locals, Meherpur Sadar Police Station OC Shah Dara Khan said the Royal Express bus, which had left Barisal Kuakata for Meherpur, lost control and hit the brick-crasher coming from the front. They died on the spot.
A team of Meherpur Fire Service arrived at the spot and recovered two bodies. The injured has been admitted to Meherpur General Hospital.
