Train communication resumed after 10 hours

Rail operation between Khulna and the rest of the country resumed around 10 hours after derailment of a Khulna-bound freight train near Ansarbaria station in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district early Wednesday .

Uthli railway station master Mintu Roy said the train services resumed around 11am after the derailed oil tankers were removed from the track.

He said the authorities cancelled the trips of Dhaka-bound three trains from Khulna and other districts due to schedule collapse, leaving passengers waiting at the stations in trouble.
Moreover, hundreds of train passengers remained stranded for around 10 hours, the station master said.
On other hand, a four member body led by Anowar Hossain, Pakshi divisional transport official of the Bangladesh Railway, was formed to probe the incident.

The train services from Khulna, disrupted due to the derailment of eight tankers near Ansarbaria station in Chuadanga, may not return to normal until the afternoon.
The ongoing recovery operation, which began early in the morning, is taking time, officials said.
Already 11 hours have passed, causing significant inconvenience for passengers traveling on this route. Many passengers have been left stranded on the trains, unable to reach their destinations.
Shanto Kumar Biswas, the point man of Chuadanga rail station, looking after communication told that around six passenger trains are halted at different rail stations and junctions in three rioutes—Khulna-Dhaka-Panchagarh-Rajshahi-Santhar and Goalondo.
He said two passenger trains—one from Khulna-Goalondo was stranded at Mobarakganj station of Jhenidah and another from Dhaka to Khulna stranded at Chuadanga rail station.
Passengers of the trains, specially going to long distances are facing trouble of indecision whether they will cancel the travel or not.
Many passengers are managing alternative travels and trying to reach destined goals. But general passengers have fallen into manifold problems.
Rail communication between Khulna and the rest of the country is disrupted after eight tankers from a freight train derailed near Ansarbaria station in Jibannagar upazila, Chuadanga at around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, at the down signal point.
The rescue operation began early in the morning, with a recovery train arriving from Ishwardi in Pabna. The rescue operation is still ongoing.
