Kushtia Superintendent of Police, Khairul Alam said that this generation should be brought up with a touch of Bengali folk culture. Every child from generation to generation will be successful only if they know the culture of their own nation. They will make the country successful. He said Bengalis have a very valuable cultural heritage. It should be known to every child of the generation.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Pitha festival’ at Kushtia Public School, one of the private educational institutions of Kushtia on Saturday.
He said there are many countries in the world that have lost their cultural heritage in a small way. But Bangladesh is a country whose cultural heritage has not been lost. These are our encouragement, these are our inspiration.
The students of the school participate in this day-long grand pitha festival on the school premises.
Chairman of the school, President of Kushtia Citizens Committee Professor Dr SM Mustanjid, General Secretary of Citizens' Committee Professor Dr Selim Toha, prominent businessman and finance secretary of Kushtia District Awami League, Ajoy Sureka, prominent businessman Biswajit Saha Sontu, assistant primary education officer Oliur Rahman, headmaster of Kushtia GK School, Abdul Mamun, assistant teacher, Md Zakaria and sono Hospital administrator Shah Alam were present there and also spoke.
Special guest, Professor Dr SM Mustanjid said “Events like Pitha Utsab take us back to our thousand years of tradition. Where our roots are. That should not be forgotten.”
Professor Dr Selim Toha said, “There are many ways we can keep this generation close to the mainstream of our culture. Such a festival is one of them. He urged the future generation to move forward with education from the roots.”
