Three countries including Malaysia did not see the moon of the holy month of Zilhaj. Therefore, the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 29. The International Astronomical Center reported this information on Sunday.
The Hijri month of Zilhaj begins with the sighting of the new moon. Holy Hajj is also performed this month. And Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th.
The moon of the holy month of Zilhaj was not seen anywhere in Indonesia. Therefore, the Ministry of Religion of Indonesia said that Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 29.
The Malaysian government has also announced the holy Eid-ul-Azha on June 29. The moon of the month of Zilhaj was not seen on Sunday in Brunei, which is another country in Southeast Asia. Therefore, the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 29 in that country as well.
Bangladesh National Moon Sighting Committee is having a meeting tomorrow to determine the date of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. The meeting will be held at 7:30 pm in the meeting room of the Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram.
Muslims in UAE, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, the UK, the US, Canada and several other countries will also try to sight the moon this evening. An announcement regarding whether the Dhul Hijjah moon has been sighted or not is expected after Maghrib prayers. Accordingly, Eid al-Adha 2023 date will be announced.
