A severe traffic jam has been seen at Daulatdia Ghat in Rajbari. This has created long queues of passenger buses and small vehicles on about 3 kilometers of Daulatdia-Kushtia highway since early Monday.
As a result, the drivers and passengers have been suffering.
It is learned that after three days of public holiday, the traffic pressure on Dhaka-bound vehicles increased in Daulatdia from noon on Sunday (February 21). After being stuck on the road for a long time, many passengers got off the bus and set off on foot or in rickshaws for launches and ferries.
Passengers heading to Dhaka said they have been stuck on the Daulatdia road since night.
BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Assistant Manager (Commerce) Mahbub Hossain said the pressure of passengers and vehicles has increased in Daulatdia since before noon on Sunday. Even today (Monday) it is same under pressure.
However, passenger buses and small cars are being crossed on priority basis. Now there is not much pressure on small cars.
At present, 16 big and small ferries are plying on this route, the official said.
