After a long 543 days of shutdown, different schools including government-private and kindergartens have opened in Kushtia. Many schools have made various formalities to welcome the students. Signboards with flowers and balloons were hung at the main entrance to welcome students in government Girls Schools.
Materials to wash hand were provided in the very entrance of the schools. Students entered the school according to the rules.
Many parents of the students are also seen with the students at the Kushtia Girls School entrance in the morning. However, they have been instructed by the school authority to maintain a safe distance.
Deputy Commissioner and school governing body president Mohammad Saidul Islam welcomed the students at Kushtia Zilla School and Girls School on Sunday morning. He visited several classes. At this time, he urged the students to be part in classes in the school according to the rules.
When visited to some of the schools in the city showed that there was an uproar among the students but the desired number of students did not show up in some of the schools.
The headmaster of a school said many parents had contacted them and said they would monitor the situation for a day or two after the school reopened.
Talking to a parent named Dilara Hasan in front of the government girl’s school, she said her child was in class five. She did not bring the child to school. She came to see the school environment.
She, however, commented that the school environment is good.
Shahnaz Aman, director of Kushtia Public School, one of the private schools in Kushtia, said 61 students were selected in the first half of the day as per the instructions of Corona situation in the primary section. She said that the school activities have been started in accordance with the appropriate environment.
