A joyous procession and sweets distribution has been held in Magura district on the occasion of expiration of sentences of World-class all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on Wednesday evening. Magura is birthplace of Sakib.
He was banned for 1 year by the ICC for concealing gambling offers in last year. Now Shakib will not have any obstacle to enter the field with bat and ball.
On the news of Shakib's release, his fans sang and danced in the streets of the city. They were distributed sweet among the people. Meanwhile, Syed Barik Anjam Barki, General Secretary of Magura District Football Development Association, said that Shakib is not only the pride of Magura, but also the pride of Bangladesh, the pride of the whole world, lifeless cricket seems to have come back to life today, even after a long year.
