The government has decided to ban plying the public transport for a total of 9 days including Eid days. It is from 5 days before Eid-ul-Azha and 3 days after Eid.
Now those who want to go home on Eid have to go five days before Eid and they have to come three days later.
On the other hand, the Road Transport and Highways Department has asked the Chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to take necessary steps to stop public transport in this regard.
The country will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha or Eid-ul-Adha on July 31 or August 1, subject to the sighting of the moon in the month of Jilhaj.
