President Md. Sahabuddin has received the first formal greeting at Bangabhaban. He was given a guard of honor at the south-west part of the Credential grounds of the Bangabhavan.
After taking oath yesterday, the first guard of honor was given to the Head of State today (April 25).
According to government news service, no official guard of honor was given to the President as he carried out office in last evening.
A smart contingent of the Presidential Guard Regiment (PGR) gave him a guard of honor as part of the ceremony.
On arrival at Bangabhaban, the President was welcomed at the main gate by a fine cavalry contingent of the PGR. From there, when he reached the gate of the main building, the officials of the BangaBhavan welcomed him with flowers.
As the 22nd President of the country yesterday, the outgoing President Md. Abdul Hamid was replaced by freedom fighter and senior politician Md. Sahabuddin.
