Kushtia police on Tuesday filed two cases against 47 BNP-Jamaat men over their involvement in subversive activities across the district.
Police have so far arrested four BNP men in the last two days in connection with the cases.
Two cases were filed in districts Mirpur and Sadar model police station. Four BNP activists arrested were of Mirpur upazila.
According to police, BNP leaders and activists with the help of Jamaat-e-Islami cadres were trying to create disorder in different parts of the district.
“Measures will be taken against those try to create anarchy,” said superintendent of police Kushtia Khairul Islam.
According to the district police head, no room will be given for those involved in criminal’s activities.
Besides, BP leaders and activists blamed the police for their action against them.
The BNP district unit's general secretary Sohrab Uddin said police have filed the ghost cases only to harass the partymen.
Contacted, officers-in-charge (OCs) of both the police stations said the accused are involved in subversive activities.
