A-14 year physically challenged girl has been raped at Satpakhia village in Khoksa upazila in the district on Tuesday.
Police arrested the rapist after a case was filed against him at Khoksa police station on Wednesday night.
According to the case, the disabled girl went to buy chocolate at the shop of one Shukur Ali on Tuesday noon. The shop was next to Shukur’s house. Shukur, a father of three children allured the girl for chocolate, took to his house and rapped.
None of the Shukur’s family was at house during the incident.
Meanwhile, the girl’s mother was looking for her baby. She looked into Shukur’s house and thundered to find her baby naked in Shukur’s room.
Sensing danger, Shukur confined the girl and her mother into his room and kept them hostage all day long. Shukur threatened them for not leaking the incident.
On Wednesday, the parents of the victim appeared to the office of Khoksa upazila Women affairs officer Ruby Khatun and disclosed the matter to her.
Hearing all things, the officer informed the matter to Khoksa police station.
Police instantly took step.
Officer-In-Charge (OC) of the police station Zohurul Alam asked the victim’s parents to file case.
After filing the case, police arrested Shukur on Wednesday night.
Thursday, (July 2) chief judicial magistrate court in Kushtia sent the alleged rapist to jail after police produced him before court.
