According to Khulna Divisional Livestock Directorate, 9 lakh 49 thousand 581 animals were sacrificed in Khulna Division this year. This time 1 lakh 5 thousand 783 in Khulna metropolis and district, 1 lakh 3 thousand 930 in Bagerhat, 1 lakh 2 thousand 139 in Satkhira, 99 thousand 219 in Jessore, 1 lakh 27 thousand 911 in Jhenaidah, 36 thousand 238 in Magura, 41 thousand 828 in Narail, 1 lakh, 32 thousand 606in Kushtia, 1 lakh 6 thousand 216 in Chuadanga and 93 thousand 711 cattle were sacrificed in Meherpur.
270 thousand 219 cows, 1 thousand 492 buffaloes, 6 lakh 52 thousand 731 goats, 25 thousand 123 sheep and 16 others were among the cattle sacrificed.
Among them, 38 thousand 891 cows, 10 buffaloes, 65 thousand 123 goats, 1 thousand 756 sheep and 3 other animals in the Khulna metropolis and district; Bagerhat has 25 thousand 77 cows, 205 buffaloes, 77 thousand 122 goats, 1 thousand 525 sheep and 3 other animals; 25 thousand 515 cows, 231 buffaloes, 73 thousand 532 goats, 2 thousand 859 sheep and 2 other animals in Satkhira; 32 thousand 690 cows, 2 buffaloes, 65 thousand 468 goats, 1 thousand 57 sheep and 2 other animals in Jessore; 45 thousand 142 cows, 369 buffaloes, 76 thousand 532 goats, 5 thousand 867 sheep and other animals in Jhenaidah; 13 thousand 50 cows, one buffalo, 22 thousand 601 goats, 585 sheep and one other animal were sacrificed in Magura.
In addition, In Narail, 14 thousand 810 cows, 3 buffaloes, 26 thousand 653 goats, and 362 sheep; 32 thousand 226 cows, 539 buffaloes, 97 thousand 52 goats, 2 thousand 788 sheep and other animals in Kushtia; In Chuadanga, 20 thousand 696 cows, 29 buffaloes, 80 thousand 326 goats, 5 thousand 163 sheep and 2 other animals and finally, in Meherpur, 22 thousand 124 cows, 103 buffaloes, 68 thousand 322 goats, 3 thousand 161 sheep and one other animal were sacrificed.
Khulna Divisional Livestock Department Director (ongoing duty) Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman said, this time there were 11 lakh 82 thousand 998 cattle that could be sacrificed. Cattle sacrifice has been done in the Khulna division as per demand. There were 163 sacrificial animal stalls in the division.
