The Threat Intelligence Platform of global cybersecurity company Group-IB. revealed that in the last year, the credentials of 2,464 ChatGPT users from Bangladesh were breached through info-stealing malware in devices.
In a media report published recently, the cybersecurity company’s Threat Intelligence platform reported that a total of 101,134 accounts were compromised globally, with 26,802 such incidents occurring in May 2023 alone.
The Asia-Pacific region is at the top of the chart as the most affected region, with 40,999 accounts compromised by hackers.
On the other hand, India ranks number one with 12,632 compromised ChatGPT accounts.
Bangladesh stood at the 10th position in terms of the number of compromised ChatGPT credentials between June 2022 and May 2023.
The other countries that were disposed to compromised data were Pakistan, ranking 2nd in the list, Brazil, ranking 3rd, and Vietnam, Egypt, the United States, France, Morocco Indonesia remains in the respective numbers.
Group-IB recommended users enhance security measures for ChatGPT accounts by regularly updating passwords and enabling two-factor authentication as a protection against potential risks.
