The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government want to build Bangladesh not only in South Asia, but also as a developed and prosperous country in the whole world.
“Father of the nation has made this country independent. Therefore, we will build an independent country as a developed and prosperous Bangladesh, Prime Minister said.
The PM told it when she was addressing to inaugurate 110 multipurpose cyclone shelters, 30 flood shelters, 30 district relief warehouses-cum-disaster management information centers and five Mujib forts and laid the foundation stone of 50 Mujib forts through virtual process.
“Our ability to deal with disasters is appreciated all over the world today,” she said. That is why the office of Global Adaptation Center has been set up in Bangladesh in September 2020.
“Despite our high risk, we are able to save lives by constantly dealing with natural disasters with large populations on a small geographical boundary, she said.
The Prime Minister said, “We now have a responsibility to plan, implement and monitor disasters around the world.” Natural disasters come at different times and in different ways, the office of the Global Adaptation Center has been set up to deal with it. The image of Bangladesh has brightened all over the world. The world now sees Bangladesh as an example of disaster management. We think it is very respectful for Bangladesh, for the people of Bangladesh.
“We are now dealing with a disaster in which the whole world is at a standstill today,” she said. That is the coronavirus. This coronavirus is disrupting human life.
“We have lost so many loved ones, we have to see so many deaths today. It’s really very sad. I urge everyone to follow the hygiene rules. Follow the instructions we give,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina said, “We know there is suffering but we are making every effort on behalf of the government to alleviate that suffering.”
Pm urges everyone’s cooperation.
“If you are safe. You are not only protecting yourself, you are also protecting the people around you, the family. With this in mind, you will follow the hygiene rules. Wearing a mask, I would even tell those who have been vaccinated to wear a mask. Keep your home clean and tidy.
