No fee other than admission fee can be charged at the time of admission of students from class I to IV in government-private primary and secondary schools. Education Minister Dipu Moni on Wednesday (November 25) in a virtual press briefing told it.
However, there are already instructions to take tuition fees and essential private employees and computer fees.
The education minister said, ‘Those who will be newly admitted, their admission fee can be taken. However, other fees including annual cannot be taken with admission. And those who are pass in the new class will not be able to take any other fee including annual charge.
However, if the normal situation comes after the corona, then you can take the fee for the activities that can be done, she said.
Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury was also present at the press briefing.
“We have looked into three options, “she said. One of them is taking school admission test. But I don’t want to take the risk of bringing students to school and taking admission test. I thought of the MCQ system, but even then the students had to come to school. Although it is safe for everyone to take online admission test, it will be difficult to ensure online admission test for all students. So it didn’t seem reasonable. Not everyone has internet access, again there is a connection problem. So students will be admitted through lottery. The admission process will be completed between 10 and 15 December. The overall admission process for the first to ninth classes will be announced by December 6.
