An old man died at the hospital in Chuadanga on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment with Corona (Covid-19) symptoms. Meanwhile, 24 more victims were found in the district infected with Corona.
The deceased was identified as Maqbool Hossain (65). He died at the Corona Isolation Ward of the hospital.
Chuadanga Sadar Hospital Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Shamim Kabir said Maqbool was admitted to the hospital last night with fever, cold and cough. Samples were collected from his body and sent to the PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College Hospital for testing. But he died before the test result comes.
In Chuadanga, 24 more people have been newly infected with coronavirus. The number of victims in the district stood at 470. Of them, 250 have recovered and 7 have died.
Chuadanga Civil Surgeon Dr ASM Maruf Hasan confirmed the matter on Thursday morning.
It may be mentioned that on March 19, a young man returning from Italy was infected with the first corona virus in Chuadanga. His home is in Alamdanga.
