None should be given chance to be saved creates violence against women, says Hanif

The Joint General Secretary of ruling Bangladesh Awami League also lawmaker of Kushtia-3 constituency Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said those who create violence against women cannot escape punishment with any political asylum. They have no political identity, no shelter. The maximum punishment should be prescribed for them.

Hanif said a very small part of 18 crore people are involved in such heinous crimes. Without these disgusting people, there would be no harm to this nation. Rather a large part of the nation will feel safe.

Hanif made the remarks while participating in a seminar on “Role of Youth Society and Social Organization in Preventing Violence Against Women”. Sammilito Samajik Jote, Kushtia organised the seminar.

Speaking as chief guest, Hanif said, “We have seen in the past how a man can become violent towards women loosing humanity and “We do not want to see it in the country in this golden time.”

Prominent writer and researcher, chairman of the Sammilito Samajik Jote, Kushtia also the editor and Publisher of the daily Dainik Kushtia and The Kushtia Times Dr. Amanur Aman in the chair, Kushtia Sadar Upazila Panishad Chairman and General Secretary of Kushtia Town unit Awami League Ataur Rahman Ata and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jobayer Hossain Chowdhury were present as special guests.

Professor Dr. Mahbubul Arfin, Chairman at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Kushtia Islamic University and General Secretary of Bangabandhu Parishad at Kushtia Islamic University was chief discussant there.

Ajoy Sureka, businessman also patron of Sammilito Samajaik Jote made end of thanks.

Hanif said many were trying to politicize the recent spate of violence against women. Trying to say that people are doing it with the indulgence of political asylum.

“That’s not true,” Hanif asked how many hundreds of such incidents where political party leaders and activists are involved ?

He said such crimes happen when people lose their conscience. This is what we see in society.

“I am surprised to see that school, college, university teachers, madrasa teachers and even mosque imams are involved in such crimes. Children are not being protected from these animals,” Hanif said.

He said they should not be given a chance to be saved.

He said the law has been enacted. The maximum punishment will be ensured.
