The election of the executive body of Kushtia’s non-governmental organization FAIR was held on Saturday.

In the new committee, Advocate Manjury Begum made new chairman and Dewan Akhteruzzaman member-secretary.

Earlier, annual general meeting was also held at the organisation’s office in Kushtia town. Samsunnahar Shimu, the immediate past chairman presided over the meeting.

In the annual general meeting, the members’ presents approved the budget for the current financial year. A work plan was also presented and approved there.

The meeting addressed among others by Professor Dr. M. Selim Toha, Advocate Manjury Begum, Jeb-un Nisa Sabuj, Md. Obaidur Rahman, Dr. Amanur Aman, Md. Jamirul Islam, Ananta Kumar Das.

At the end of the meeting, FAIR’s Chief Adviser and Chief Election Commissioner Md. Nazrul Islam announced the uncontested 9-member Executive body elected for the term 2021-23.

The elected members are, 1) Advocate Manjuri Begum, Chairman, 2) Tajnihar Begum, Vice-Chairman, 3) Md. Obaidur Rahman, Vice-Chairman, 4) Kazi Rafiqur Rahman, Treasurer, 5) Prof. Dr. Selim Toha, Executive Member, 6) Bankim Chandra Debnath, Executive Member, 6) Akhtari Sultana, Executive Member, 6) Sabina Akhter, Executive Member, 9) Dewan Akhtaruzzaman, Member Secretary.
