The Digital Financial Service of Postal Department ‘Nagad’ has started the process of recruiting 10 women entrepreneurs in each upazila of the country.
This information was given in a press release.
It said that the selected women would be given training on behalf of ‘Nagad’ well as necessary assistance for distribution of ‘Nagad’ services at their local level.
Any woman who wants to become self-reliant through digital financial services can apply to be registered as an entrepreneur.
Interested candidates should apply by March 31 with e-mail with resume.
After verifying and selecting the application, the ‘nagad’authority will conduct special training on digital financial services and will ultimately recruit the successful entrepreneur.
Commenting on the issue, Tanvir A Mishuk, Managing Director, Nagad, said, “We are working to bring digital transaction services to all types of people across the country.”
He said women empowerment is one of our main goals. We believe that this initiative will also play an important role in providing equal opportunities for women to participate in digital business and in eliminating gender inequality in society. This will ensure a digital lifestyle for all men and women. Moreover, if women are employed as entrepreneurs, the number of financial inclusion among women will increase. '
Currently, there are more than a hundred women entrepreneurs working with 'Nagad' and a significant number of them have established themselves as 'Nagad' entrepreneurs. Some women entrepreneurs are transacting one to two lakh taka a day and they themselves are earning good money.
This will be a unique initiative to recruit women entrepreneurs or representatives at the grassroots level in the financial services business.
