The bodies of an expatriate’s wife and his 6-year-old son have been recovered from a village in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia.
The incident took place at around noon on Tuesday (July 20) at the house of Taizal Biswas in Hasla village of Ambaria union in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Monira Khatun, 26, wife of Taizal and their son Anaj, 6. Taizal is an expatriate to Kuwait.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirpur Police Golam Mostafa confirmed the matter and said police recovered two bodies hanging from the bathroom in the same veil.
He told that one of the woman neighbours went to Taizal’s house at noon and peeked into the house. But without getting any response, she discovered the hanging Monira and her son Anaj in the bathroom attached to the house.
OC said Taizal’s house is next to his father’s and brothers’ house. However, no one can say anything about it.
He said the matter was being investigated.
Two bodies were recovered and sent to the morgue of Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.
