Another 28 Bangladeshi citizens stranded in India have returned to the country through Chuadanga’s Darshana check post on Wednesday night.
With this, total of 878 people returned to the country through this check post in last 30 days so far.
The Bangladeshis entered to Darshana checkpost through Gede check point of India till Wednesday evening. There, the health department of Chuadanga tested thei rapid antigen. However, no coronavirus was found in any of their bodies.
Immigration in-charge of Darshana Joynagar checkpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Alim said after the formalities at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), the Immigration Branch (Immigration) and the Customs Department of the police they were sent the quarantine center.
Convener Corona Control and Prevention Sub-Committee in Chuadanga also Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Monira Parveen told that they will be in a 14-day compulsory institutional quarantine there.
He added that16 people, out of 878 returnees have tested positive for coronavirus. They were admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital's Corona Isolation Ward. From there 15 people recovered and returned home. One has died.
