A total of 27 people have been infected by corona in the last 24 hours in Kushtia. This is the information of PCR lab of Kushtia Medical College on 23 June. The total number of victims by the virus in the district stood at 461.

Tapos Kumar Sarker, Resident medical officer (RMO) of Kushtia general hospital said  the results of a total of 128 samples were obtained from the lab.  Among the victims are 19 in Sadar upazila of Kushtia district, two in Kumarkhali upazila, five in Daulatpur upazila and one in Mirpur upazila.

So far, the number of upazila-based patients is Daulatpur 61, Bheramara 64, Mirpur 38, Sadar 222, Kumarkhali 57, Khoksa 21.

Meanwhile, all kinds of shops except daily necessities, medicines and emergency services will be closed under Kushtia Municipality from June 25. The decision was taken at a meeting of the District Corona Prevention Committee.

Deputy Commissioner Aslam Hossain presided over the meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s room on Wednesday.

The decision of the meeting is to close all kinds of shops in Kushtia municipality area except for daily necessities, medicines and emergency services. Public gatherings will also be regulated, all types of traffic will be restricted.

So far 434 cases have been identified in Kushtia. Of them 6 people died. Two people died in Kushtia Wednesday, June 24.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Aslam Hossain issued a notification at the noon.

According to the notification, all other shops in Kushtia Municipality will be closed from 06.00 am till further notice in the notification except for groceries, raw materials, medicines, mobile banking, mobile recharge, animal feed, fish food, fertilizer-seeds, pesticide shops. Shops for daily necessities have to be closed by 04.00 pm.

It has been said that agricultural products and export oriented products can be produced and transported in accordance with the health rules. All other activities will be closed.
No one has been told to get out of the road unless absolutely necessary.
It has been said that strict legal action will be taken if all these instructions are not followed.
