A Madrassa teacher has allegedly molested his eighth grader student at Gopalpur Ichapur Aminia Dakhil Madrasa in Goga Union of Sharsha Upazila of Jessore.
A case has been filed. The teacher fled the scene. The teacher is Abdul Gafur. He is in charge of Assistant Superintendent of the madrassa.
According to the locals, there are allegations that the teacher Abdul Gafur has caused such incidents several times.
Abdus Salam, a member of Goga Union Parishad told that the madrasa was closed due to Corona crisis but the office opened. The teacher called the girl at school. Taking advance of none inside the madrassa, the teacher raped the girl.
The girl returned home crying and told her parents about the incident. The accused Gafur then fled when the girl’s father and the locals went to search the madrasa to net him.
The matter instantly was informed to the Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
UNO Pulak Kumar Mandal said the Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Sharsha Police Station has been directed to investigate the matter.
Sharsha Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Badrul Alam said a case has been recorded on Friday night.
On Saturday, Madrasa Superintendent Maulana Azhar Ali admitted the incident and said there is no committee to run the madrasa. An application has been submitted for an ad hoc committee.
He said a show cause notice has been issued to Abdul Gafur on the instructions of UNO and Education Officer to respond within three days.
After receiving the reply, legal action will be taken against him, the super said.
