West Bengal CID (Criminal Investigation Department) has made a major breakthrough in the investigation after arresting Jihad Howladar, an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh residing in Mumbai.
According to CID sources, Jihad Hawladar is involved in the murder and dismemberment of a Bangladeshi parliamentarian in an apartment in Kolkata’s New Town. He also admitted the matter. Jihad is a butcher by profession.
Jihad’s confession revealed shocking details of how the crime was carefully planned and executed. Howladar admitted that the mastermind was Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin.
On Akhtaruzzaman’s orders, four Bangladeshi citizens including Hawladar strangulated MP in New Town apartment.
Bengal CID finds blood stains inside the New Town apartment. They also recovered several plastic bags, which they believe were used to dump the body parts.
Circumstantial evidence indicates that the MP was first strangled and then his body was cut into pieces, the police claimed.
Jihad told to police that after killing Anar, the gang dismembered the body to remove the skin, all the flesh and any possibility of identification. The remains were then stuffed into plastic bags, and the bones were cut into small pieces. These packets were transported and disposed across Kolkata, the suspect said.
Meanwhile, according to the information given by the driver carrying the body parts, some of the body parts were dumped in Krishnamati village in Bhanar area of Polerhat police station. Body parts were also thrown in the jirangacha. CID of India is searching these places.
Sources say that Anar was murdered within 20 minutes of entering the flat in Newtown. First, Anar was hit on the head with a heavy object. Death was then confirmed by suffocation with a pillow. The body is cut into pieces and kept in the freezer to prevent decomposition. Turmeric is then mixed with the pieces of the corpse.
