The apprehension of health experts on Coronovirus has been true in Kushtia. Now the district has started to see an influx of covid-19 patients. In last 24 hours, 60 patients have been detected here.
This was the highest one-day infection in the district since March 21.
With this total of 1106 people became affected by corona in the district. The first patient was found on March 21 in the district.
Beside, one more person has died in the last 24 hours and with the death, the total death toll stood at 23 people in Kushtia.
Health experts already warned on possibility of sudden increase of corona patients over some recent development including opening shops and trade in the district. They blamed that none of the stakeholder—either sellers or buyers are conscious to obey the covid-19 protection rules.
Moreover, experience shows that people in the town are randomly violating the rules.
Tapos Kumar Sarker, Resident Medical officer (RMO) of Kushtia general hospital said breaking the all simple rules are main cause behind the sharp rising of Corona patients in the town.
He said people have to be aware.
“No other way than follow the rules in the own way,” Tapos said.
A high official of Kushtia police said the situation is now gradually going out of control.
“What can be done when value of money is much than value of life?, he questioned.
Police urged the leaders of all sectors specially business community to show at least patient what actually was needed to check the Covid-19, the police official said.
“But nobody cares,” he asserted.
