The Kushtia Nagorik Committee has laid wreath at the Shaheed Minar paying homage to the martyrs. 

The leaders also observed a minute of silence at the foot of the Shaheed Minar, wishing peace to the souls of those heroes sacrificed their lives to protect the right to their mother tongue in 1952.

General Secretary of the Citizens movement Professor Dr. Selim Toha led a rally left started from Kushtia Circuit House and reached Kushtia Central Shaheed Minar in the morning.

Vice-president of the forum Halimuzzaman, treasurer Rabiul Islam, member of the executive body Shahnewaz Ansari Manju, , SM Qaderi Shakil, Biswajit Saha Santu, Dr Amanur Aman, Asma Ahmed Miru and Kazi Samsunnahar Alo were present at the event. General Member Dr. Zulfiqar Haider, Advocate Manjuri Begum and businessman Roknuzzaman Nantu others were present among others.
