A 27-member full-fledged executive panel of Kushtia Nagarik Committee (Kushtia Citizen Committee) has been formed with renowned surgeon, Former Principal of Kushtia Medical College, President of BMA Kushtia unit also Councilor of BMDC Professor Dr. SM Mustanzid as President and former Treasurer of Kushtia Islamic University also Professor at the department of Law Dr. Selim Toha as general secretary.
The committee was announced on Tuesday evening.
This committee has been formed with the participation of eminent citizens of the district on the basis of representation of people from different walks of life in an aim to play intellectual participatory role in the socio-economic, educational, cultural and overall development of the district.
The proposal of such a committee was shared in a view exchange meeting with eminent citizens of Kushtia held at the hall room of Disha Tower in Kushtia. Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and lawmaker of Kushtia-3 constituency presided over the meeting. The people presented there suggested that a committee be formed with such citizens.
Over the view shared there, Mahbubul Alam Hanif announced a committee called “Kushtia Nagarik Committee” with Professor Dr. SM Musnatjid as convener and Professor Dr. Selim Toha a member-secretary.
Accordingly, on the advice of Mahbubul Alam Hanif and in consultation with all, a full-fledged committee of 27 members was announced.
The name of Halimuzzaman, CEO of Dhaka Healthcare as Vice-president, Samsul Wase, Executive Director of Kushtia Sono Diagnostic Center and Hospital as Treasurer and Md. Rabiul Islam, Executive Director of Disha have been included as Treasurer at the committee respectively.
