Kushtia law and order meeting calls for ensuring mask to all

Over increasing coronavirus (Covid-19) infection, the Kushtia law and order meeting has strongly urged to ensure that everyone wears mask.

On Sunday the meeting was held at the conference room of Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Islam in his chair. The meeting was attended by District Superintendent of Police Khairul Alam, Civil Surgeon, District Awami League leaders and different government officials of the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted a letter sent by the Cabinet Division on Saturday (March 13th). This letter was sent to all Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO) from the Cabinet Division.

The letter said, ‘Recently the rate of corona infection and mortality has increased slightly compared to the last few months. In order to prevent the rate of infection, it is necessary to ensure the observance of hygiene including wearing masks in all areas.

The letter requested the Divisional Commissioners, DCs and UNOs to monitor the observance of hygiene including ensuring the wearing of masks.

The growing Corona infection situation was discussed at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam, quoting the Prime Minister, told reporters, “Whether we are vaccinated or not, we must abide by three things.”

According to the statistics, there has been an increase of 14.52 per cent sample testing, 6.28 per cent new patient identification, 42.41 per cent recovery and 49.2 per cent increase in deaths this week as compared to last week.
