Eleven new Sheikh Kamal IT Training Centers including Kushtia and Meherpur district are being set up.
The project was approved at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (August 25th). The project will be implemented by the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority starting this month and by June 2025. The potential cost for its implementation has been estimated at Tk 698.91 crore.
This will turn a large number of young unemployed into skilled human resources as well as create employment opportunities.
Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department has taken up the plan to set up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers in 64 districts of the country. Following this, the work of setting up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers in 12 places of the country started. The construction of IT training and incubation centers in Rajshahi and Natore has been completed.
To this end, a project was recently proposed in the Planning Commission to set up Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center.
Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers will be set up at Kazipur in Sirajganj, Kalai in Joypurhat, Dinajpur Sadar, Shibalaya in Manikganj, Kishoreganj Sadar, Narayanganj Sadar, Matlab in Chandpur, Bandarban University Campus, Bhola Sadar, Kushtia Sadar and Meherpur Sadar Upazilas.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center in Rajshahi on February 12.
