Leaders of Kushtia Nagorik Committee (a citizen’s movement) held an exchange of views with the district health department on Sunday. The issue of the meet in was about the ongoing general health service and its management of Kushtia district.

The president of the citizens' committee, former principal of Kushtia Medical College, eminent surgeon Professor Dr. SM Mostasjid and general secretary of the committee former treasurer of Kushtia Islamic University Professor Dr. Selim Toha led the five member delegates of the executive committee of the forum.

Kushtia Civil Surgeon Dr. Anwarul Islam, Kushtia General Hospital’s Residential Medical Officer Dr. Tapash Kumar Sarkar, Kushtia Medical College’s Assistant Professor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman Mnitu and Junior Consultant of Kushtia General Hospital Dr. Musa Kabir represents the meeting held at the office of Dr. Asaduzzaman Munshi, acting caretaker of Kushtia general hospital.

The leaders of the civic committee discussed in detail on various issues including how Kushtia's general health activities are being conducted in the wake of the ongoing epidemic of coronavirus. The overall picture of the Upazila Health Centers, doctors and staff management at the union level health complex etc.

District health officials raised several issues during this time. It is believed that if the current situation can be met, there will be a huge improvement in the health management of the district.

In reply, the Nagorik committee leaders expressed their determination to take part in the health services of the district and decided to exchange assistance on a number of issues.
