Police recovered the body of a woman from Canalpara village in Naodapara of Fulbaria union of Mirpur upazila in the district on March 14.

The deceased identified as Rangila Khatun (35). She is wife of Shafiqul Islam of the village.

Police recovered his body from a tobacco field next to the house on the morning of March 14.

Golam Mostafa, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Mirpur Police Station said there were signs of injuries on the body’s face. She was initially thought to have been stabbed to death. The body was recovered and sent to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The victim’s husband Shafiqul Islam said his wife went out to cut grass in the field on Saturday afternoon and did not return. She was not found after searching all possible places.

In the morning, the locals found her body there.
