Japan International Tobacco fined in Meherpur

Japan International Tobacco has been fined in Meherpur. A mobile court of Meherpur district administration took action against the tobacco company in a raid on Monday, June 22.
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Rakibul Islam conducted the operation.

According to the mobile court source, Meherpur branch of the multi-national tobacco producer has been continuously distributing leaflets, stickers and display boards with promotional advertisement for smoking cigarettes breaking the existing law.

The mobile court fined Tk. 10000 to the company subject to confession of guilty by its In-Charge of the branch Ashiqur Rahman.

Leaflets, stickers, display boards and banners with promotional advertisements were also seized.
