Jamaat man held with 600 Jihadi books in Chuadanga

Police arrested a Jamaat leader and recovered 600 controversial and jihadi books written against the government from him from Kabari Road in Chuadanga municipal area around 1: am on Friday. 

The detainee was identifies as Sharif Hasan, son of late Azizur Rahman of Gulshanpara in municipal town of Chuadanga district. He is president of Municipal Jamaat’s unit ward no-2.

A case was filed under the Special Powers Act against him and other two including Advocate Ruhul Amin and Advocate Masud Parvez Russell of the district. Of them, Advocate Ruhul Amin is District Jamaat Secretary Masud Parvez is Amir of municipality Jamaat unit.

According to the police, leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir were holding a secret meeting. Police raided there. Police arrested Sharif while others managed to flee.

Chuadanga Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Jihad Fakrul Alam Khan said one of the books, written by Jamaat Amir Shafiqur Rahman titled ‘Speech of Shafiqur Rahman’ has distorted the history of great independence including degrading fatger of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Chuadanga court sent him to jail.
