Three students of Kushtia Islamic University (IU) have won five medals in ‘Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games Competition-2020’ was organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.
Of thee students, two won a total of four gold and one student won a bronze medal.
All three medalists are students at the Department of Islamic History and Culture at the University.
Jafrin Akter of the 2014-15 academic year won gold medals in the discus throw event and Anika Rahman Tamanna of the 2016-17 academic year won gold medals in 100m hurdles, 100m relay and 400m relay events. In addition, Rinki Khatun won a bronze medal in the long jump event. She was student of the 2018-19 academic year.
According to the Department of Physical Education, the competition was held from April 2 to 4 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Jafrin Akhter and Anika Rahman Tamanna won three gold medals. Rinki Khatun also won a bronze medal by finishing third in the long jump event.
Director of the Department of Physical Education Mohammad Sohail wished the winners continued success.
