A teacher of English Department at Islamic University died with Covid-19.
The dead was identified as Khandaker Abdullahil Mabud Jewel, Associate Professor of the department.
He died at around 5.30pm on Monday. He was 44 years old.
Khandaker Kudrat-e-Khoda Bidyut, elder brother of the deceased said Jewel had been suffering from cold and flu for several days. He was receiving treatment at home. On Monday evening, he was taken to a local private clinic due to caught by respiratory problems. He was rushed to a private clinic and later shifted Kushtia General Hospital's Corona Care Unit where his oxygen level dropped below 70 at one stage of treatment.
When his condition deteriorated further, he was transferred to Dhaka Apollo hospital. He died just before being picked up in an air ambulance in Kushtia stadium at around 5.30 pm.
Kushtia General Hospital Residential Medical Officer Ashraful Islam said Jewel had high diabetes. He also had a mild stroke. His corona positive found at RT-PCR lab test at the hospital on Monday afternoon.
Jewel is survived by his wife, a 12-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter.
He was buried at Kushtia pouro graveyard on Monday night.
