Islamic University (IU) Press Club has elected its new executive office bearers.

In the office, Sarkar Masum, IU Correspondent of Daily Jugantar has been elected as the President while Tariqul Islam, Correspondent of Banglanews 24.com has been elected as the general secretary.

They were elected by direct vote of the members held at the university’s press corner on Monday. The election was stated from 10:30 am in accordance with the health rules.

Later, the Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Sheikh Abdus Salam officially announced the results and the full committee. The newly formed committee commemorated the Father of the Nation by paying homage to the Mujib Mural of the university.

Other members of the committee are Vice President AR Rashed (Protidienr Sangbad) , Joint General Secretary Rumi Noman (Bangla Tribune), Office Secretary Mutasim Billah Pappu (Daily Samakal), Treasurer Ahsan Naeem (Daily Bangladesh Pratidin), Publicity, Publication and Literary Secretary Abu Huraira (The Independent), Sports and Cultural Secretary Raihan Mahbub (Jagonews24.com), Executive Members – Ferdousur Rahman Sohag (Daily Sangbad), Shahadat Timir (Daily Kaler Kantha), Munjurul Islam Nahid (Bhorer Darpn) and Adil Sarker (Dainik Somoyer Alo).
