Islamic University incident/ All process goes as per the directives of High Court

Incident of alleged torturing of a female non-residential student at Sheikh Hasian hall in Islamic University will be investigated as per the directives of High Court.
The university authority will also investigate the matter as per its rule.
Sources concern told it.
The High Court has ordered to form a three-member committee to investigate the allegation of torture.
A High Court bench of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Raziq Al Jalil passed the order on Thursday (February 16).
Kushtia District Commissioner has to form this committee within 3 days. The committee has been asked to have a judicial magistrate, an executive magistrate and a teacher. The report has been asked to be submitted to the court within the next 7 days.
At the same time, the court asked to submit the report of the committee made by the university administration in this incident within 10 days. During the investigation, the two accused have been asked to stay out of the campus. The order asked to ensure the safety of the victimized student.
Advocate Gazi Mohsin filed the public interest writ petition.
Home secretary, education secretary, IU VC, registrar, proctor etc has been made respondents in the writ. Deputy Attorney General Tushar Kanti Roy heard for the state.
The lawyer brought the reports published in various newspapers about the incident to the attention of the High Court. Then the court asked the lawyer to bring a written application.
Sources said, the student made victim was residing at a room of Sheikh Hasina Hall on the first day of the first year class on February 8. She had no allotted seat there. On the night, BCL activist also resident student of the hall Tabassum Ara asked the new students in the dining room to know who freshers students were living in the Hall with legal seat. When the girl raised her hand, Tabassum got angry. She asked why Tabassum was not told this information earlier.
Tabassum informed the matter to Sanjida Chowdhury, the vice-president of the university unit of BCL and resident student of the hall.
The fresher student was then asked to meet in Prajapati-II room (Sanjida’s room) of the hall. But that day the student did not go to meet.
Sanjida called the student to the public room of the hall at around 10 pm on February 12. It is allegation that Sanjida took the fresher student to her room from there and tortured her till 3:30 in the night.
The fresher girl complained that she was verbally abused there. At the same time, punches, slaps are also given. She also said that at one point the video footage of the torture was recorded. At that time she noticed that her clothes were not in order. He was also threatened with expulsion from the hall and video being circulated if she opened up about the torture.
Meanwhile, the Chhatra League has temporarily dismissed Sanjida Antara and her associate Tabsum Islam from the organization. She left the hall on the instructions of the authorities on Thursday night.
Sheikh Hasina Hall Provost Professor Dr. Shamsul Haque confirmed that the two had left hall.
Meanwhile, BCL IU unit President Faisal Siddiqui Arafat told that if she is found guilty in the investigation, appropriate action will be recommended to the central Chhatra League and the university administration.
Sheikh Hasina Hall Provost Professor Dr. Shamsul Haque said, ‘On the verbal instructions of the university administration, he ordered the accused to leave the hall. They left the hall later in the evening.’
When asked whether other students left the common room where the incident took place, he said he heard that some of them left citing family and personal reasons.
He said none of those rooms are resident students of the hall, they are allowed to stay in the hall as non-residents.
Many of them are eyewitnesses. When asked whether the investigation will be disrupted if they leave, the Provost said there will be no problem. Because, they have names and addresses. The investigation committee can certainly talk to them if they want. He said that they will be brought if necessary.
University Proctor Professor Shahadat Hossain Azad said that none of the students in the hall said that they were suffering from insecurity. They are taking the highest care. They were continuously keeping communication with the student. Efforts are on to bring her back.
