The Kushtia police Sub-Inspector (SI) allegedly trafficked information to the criminals after receiving from national emergency service number 999 that caused a severe attack on the informant by the same criminals has been withdrawn.

He was closed to the Kushtia police line last night. He was working at Kuchiamora police camp in Bheramara upazila in the district.

Kushtia Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Mostafizur Rahman told it to The Daily Star.

The official said a team is investigating the allegations was being raised against him. Although it has not been proved yet, the district police has taken this step due to allegation came.

Asadul Haque, a resident of Faizullapur village in Juniadah area of ​​Kushtia's Bheramara upazila, called the National Emergency Service 999 after receiving sounds of gunshots in the Padma River near his house at about 9:am on Friday. From that service he was contacted by a duty officer of Bheramara police station. The incident took place at Kuchiamora police camp of Bheramara police station. The duty officer gave the name and mobile number of the informant to SI Jahangir Hossain at Kuchiamora police camp.

The SI phoned him about 4 hours later him and said, “You have done nonsense, I have verified that no such incident has taken place in the area.”

Within 20/25 minutes of the police officer's phone call, 7 youths stormed into his house and abused him. Four of them attacked him, one of them indiscriminately stabbed his body with sharp weapon.

The terrorists blamed him how dare he hold to tell police about their activities.

Hearing Asadul’s scream, some farmers working in the field near to his house rushed to the spot and rescued him. The miscreants threatened him with a pistol and fled.

The injured Asadul was admitted to Kushtia General Hospital on the same day.

On Saturday, he lodged a written complaint with the district police superintendent, mentioning the names of 7 people with details of the incident.

The complaint was also recorded as a case with Bheramara police station on Sunday morning.
