The higher secondary and equivalent examinations are not being held this year till the end.
The results of HSC will be determined by evaluating the results of JSC and SSC examinations. The results will be released in December.
Education Minister Dipu Moni made the announcement at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (October 7th).
Education Minister has been discussed with the examinees, parents, teachers and concerned people. This decision has been taken after seeing the situation of many countries in the world with their opinions and suggestions.
The grade number will be determined by canceling the direct examination and evaluating the results of JSC-JDC and SSC-equivalent examinations.
Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Secretary at the Department of Secondary and Higher Education Mahabub Hossain, Secretary at the Department of Technical and Madrasa Aminul Islam Khan, Chairman of the Board of Secondary and Higher Education, Professor Ziaul Haque and Chairman of all education boards were included in the meet.
The education minister said a technical committee comprising expertise of general universities, BUET and education boards would be formed to decide and consult on the manner in which grades would be determined. They will be asked to report in the first week of November. Based on this, the results of HSC-equivalent examination will be released in December.
This time 13 lakh 85 thousand 69 candidates were supposed to participate in the HSC-equivalent examination. Of these, 10 lakh 79 thousand 181 are regular and 2 lakh 8 thousand 206 are irregular. Some of them were supposed to take the test again if they failed in one or two subjects. There were 3,390 private candidates and 16,626 due to bad results.
