Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League also lawmaker of Kushtia-3 constituency Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif has told that the future generation must be built first to build up a nation and the ones who can do this job most accurately are the teachers.
Hanif called upon the teachers to dedicate themselves to this work and teach the future generation the true history of Bangladesh, its rich tradition, independence and sacred liberation war by which the independence was earned.
Hanif made the call at a view exchange meeting held with limited manner with teachers of Kushtia Government Mahila College in its teachers’ lounge on Saturday.
He termed this call as a matter of demand of the nation and circumstance too.
“Because if one does not know the exact of his past history-tradition-struggle especially the formation of a nation, then how will he involve himself in the development of the nation,” Hanif questioned.
The central leader of the ruling party said the history of Bengali nation is one of much struggles.
He said this country, this nationhood has been achieved through long struggle and many lives. This generation needs to know that. He called upon the teachers to spread the message of heroism of many people behind this earning among the students. He also mentioned that the nation expects it from them.
He said that at one time a misguided freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman misled a large number of a generation in Bangladesh by misrepresenting the true history of independence and liberation war.
“That Zia divided the entire nation into two camps for and against the liberation war and he took his position in the camp of the forces against the liberation war,” Hanif said.
He said the present pro-liberation government led by Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has conducted the history of the liberation war in the right direction. He requested the teachers to continue this trend.
Barrister Selim Altaf George, lawmaker of Kushtia-4 constituency also Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami Juba League, spoke as the special guest at the function presided over by the newly appointed Principal of Kushtia Government Mahila College, Professor Shishir Kumar Roy.
Vice Principal of the college Professor Jalal Uddin, Kushtia District Awami League Joint General Secretary Engineer Farukuzzaman and Sheikh Hasan Mehedi, Organizing Secretary Mazharul Alam Sumon, Kushtia Sadar Upazila Chairman and Kushtia Town unit Awami League General Secretary Ataur Rahman Ata, Kushtia District Awami League Finance Secretary Ajay Sureka, Islamic University Bangabandhu Parishad General Secretary Professor Dr. Mahbububal Arfin, Associate Professor of English Department Ajoy Moitra, Kushtia District Bangabandhu Parishad Joint General Secretary Dr.Amanur Aman, College teachers and invited guests were present at the event.
Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said he would take appropriate steps for the infrastructural development of the college.
