Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam has told that the government is thinking about how to handle the situation without going into lockdown again. The cabinet secretary said this while briefing the cabinet meeting at the secretariat.

A virtual cabinet meeting was held on Monday (November 2) under the presiding of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister from the Ganobhaban side and Ministers from the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat joined the meeting.

The Secretary said that ‘No Mask No Service’ in particular needs to be implemented extensively. Social movements, campaigns or legal means is needed to ensure this. Somehow without a mask so that no one comes anywhere. It’s already said everywhere.
“I told the mosque yesterday that no one would be allowed to enter the mosque without a mask. I was surprised to attend the Baitul Mukarram programme. No one is standing without a three-foot gap and following the rules,” he said. If any official goes to the mosque without a mask, he has to pay for it.

Asked if he had any plans to go to the lockdown, the cabinet secretary said, “Not yet. By the grace of Allah, we do not have such a situation. If we all use masks, that’s what the Prime Minister was saying today. The image of the virus that we have seen here, if everyone uses a mask, we will be able to stay in the comfort zone. We are making sure that no service is available in government and non-government organizations without a mask. We have sent that instruction to all offices. There will be strict instructions about the mask in any public place.
